basic structure

for all syllables except for the first, the consonant denotes the basic shape of the feature, the vowel denotes some detail about it, and coda -n denotes another detail. for the first syllable, the vowel is the base instead, since initial consonants can be dropped (i.e. "ike," "ona," etc).

all consonants have 2 numbers associated with them, from 1 to 3:

this determines how the consonants are written.

syllable 1: mouth

the vowel determines the shape of the mouth:

the first number of the consonant corresponds with the number of teeth:

the second number of the consonant corresponds with the position of the tongue:

coda -n is represented by a chin:

the empty space in the mouth can be filled.

in 1 syllable words, which could be represented with only a mouth, the eyes are 2 dots, without eyelashes or eyebrows:

syllables 2 + 3: eyes

the first number of the consonant corresponds with the shape of the eye:

the second number of the consonant corresponds with the shape of the eyebrow:

the vowel corresponds with the eyelashes:

for words that could be written with only 1 eye (2 syllable words), the second eye is drawn with the same shape as the first, but without eyelashes or eyebrows.

coda -n is written with a line underneath the eye.

syllable 4: nose

the first number of the consonant corresponds with the shape of the nose:

the second number of the consonant corresponds with the bridge of the nose:

the vowel corresponds with the nose ring:

coda -n is written with a small nostril.

syllable 5 + 6: ears

the first number of the consonant corresponds with the shape of the ear:

the second number of the consonant corresponds with the inside of the ear:

the vowel and coda -n corresponds with the earrings:

for words that could be written with only 1 ear (5 syllable words), the second ear is drawn with the same shape as the first, but without an inside or earrings.

syllable 7: hat

the first number of the consonant corresponds with the shape of the hat:

the second number of the consonant corresponds with the topper of the hat:
